Once in a while I come across a couple that I just want to be friends with, the kind you want to remind that the house next door to you is empty because that would be so much fun. So much fun that I was even able to convince Jess to come out of assisting retirement for their wedding. I first met Sam via her work at S.E. Shires as part of my craftsmen series, and could't have been more excited when a few weeks later she hired me for her fall wedding in Provincetown. With Chris being a professional trumpet player and Sam working for a trumpet manufacturer, we knew the wedding was going to be extremely festive and musical - but I wasn't quite ready for the ceremony to have an entire horns section or them to have the coolest child musician I've ever seen playing intro music.
All this preamble to say that two weeks ago Jess and I packed the car for a weekend with Sam and Chris in Provincetown. Despite a little rain on their wedding day, we were able to make some of my favorite images of 2017, and even had some time to visit Race Point on Friday before checking into the stunning Carpe Diem Guesthouse for the weekend. A few favorites from our time with Sam and Chris:
