Last weekend's wedding with Ali and Shannon continued a trend Jess and I started last year of, "Awesome clients we wish we could hang out with but they live out of state/the country/the other size of the world." Last year's couples lived relatively close compared to these two. Ali met Shannon when she was studying abroad in New Zealand during college and decided it was the kiwi life for her! Speaking of kiwis, we stopped at the supermarket on the way to the wedding for a prop that contributed to an instant favorite ring shot.
After our short engagement shoot Thursday night, I was really looking forward to their wedding day at the Essex County Club (and some better weather!) The weather cooperated (check out the gorgeous sunset), and Jess, Ben and I couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
Our day with the girls started at the house they'd rented next door to the country club.
I was sworn to secrecy after catching the bridesmaids rehearsing for a surprise they had in store for the reception.
Ben captured this great shot of the guys getting ready - he said he didn't even notice the best part until I told him on Sunday. Don't see it? Look at the groomsman on the right.
He also captured this great shot of Ali and her dad before they walked down the aisle.
This next shot might be my favorite, during the toasts.
Now for the really unique part - the bridesmaids had this little dance in store (video here) to "Call Me Maybe."
